The End of Summer

Much of my time this labor day weekend was spent working in the kitchen. It struck me yesterday that as summer begins to fade, it will become more and more difficult to find the nice, ripe tomatoes that I love to eat. So, I went in search of several pounds of the beautiful, red variety that could be canned and stored in order to enjoy a bit of summer when things turn cold. It makes me happy to now have twenty jars of tomatoes and pickles ready to open when the fresh ones are no longer available. Spending most of the day in the kitchen was an added bonus!

    Hello, old Friend.

I am so jealous that you’re still canning, as I am back in The City. Happy to have found you.
