Friday Friends: Poker
John’s aces and kings looked very good, at least until we saw my hand of 2′s and 8′s. Even better was the fact that twos happened to be wild that hand. Last night we hosted the inaugural meeting of a new poker group that I hope will thrive. It was great to get together with no agenda other than to play some cards, share some jokes and relax. It is amazing how something as simple as sitting around a card table for a few hours each month can revive one’s spirit and strengthen the bonds of friendship. Until next time I will work on knowing when to hold ‘em and when to fold ‘em!
