Flat Thomas

Every year at St. Thomas we celebrate our feast day with a parish gathering when we can come together to pray, eat, and share the faith that has been given to us by all those Christians who have gone before us. One way that we will prepare this year as a parish family is to take that faith with us into our community with the help of our patron saint, the apostle Thomas. Our adult faith formation team has created an image of St. Thomas that we have named “Flat Thomas” who will travel with each member of the parish this summer as we prepare for our parish celebration.
Our mission, if we choose to accept it, is to find places where we can takes photos of “Flat Thomas” that relate to our life as Christians. There are six suggested categories for the photos: Knowledge of Faith, Liturgical Life, Moral Formation, Prayer, Communal Life, and Missionary Spirit. I have already begun to bring the spirit of St. Thomas into the world by bringing him to our Junto Pastoral and to lunch with my friend Fr. Brent this past week. My hope is that our parish will embrace the idea and take the opportunity to bring the Gospel into the world in the same way the first apostles did.
