Blessed is the Kingdom

Seeking The Kingdom In All Things

Freedom Now

DSCN0073[1]

The more one does what is good, the freer one becomes. There is no true freedom except in the service of what is good and just. The choice to disobey and do evil is an abuse of freedom and leads to the “slavery of sin.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1733)

An excellent homily today, Father, on what real freedom is and how to arrive at it.

When I tell people that I’ve been away from the Church a long time, they sometimes ask, “What were you before?” I usually answer, “A Markite.” After the puzzled look, I explain, “Whatever Mark wanted to do.”

I bit the apple (or whatever it was). Turns out I made a really crappy god.
