Seeking The Kingdom In All Things

Let us not tire of preaching love

romero[1]

Let us not tire of preaching love; it is the force that will overcome the world. Let us not tire of preaching love. Though we see that waves of violence succeed in drowning the fire of Christian love. Love must win out; it is the only thing that can.

Oh boy do I appreciate that quote! I could hear that same message every single day (preach LOVE) and it would never get old or become any less necessary. Thanks for sharing it!

This quote hit home! Only last week, I was talking to a team at work that is hostile toward each other and their supervisor (for whom I am the second-level rater, i.e. the supervisor’s boss’s boss). They very much wanted to be an autonomous team, authorized to hire their own peers and make their own decisions on work issues (a status I have granted to three high-quality, deeply bonded teams). When I explained to them what they would need before I would grant that authority to them, they were aghast. I told them that I had to see that they loved each other. (It was as if I had used a profanity!) Similarly, a couple of years ago a senior supervisor who worked for me asked me how to work with difficult people. I told him that the only way was to love them, sincerely. He looked at me sadly and said that he could not do that. Clearly, he would not become a respected and successful supervisor. Why is it so difficult to love others? After all, is there not a piece of God in every person, whether that person is a believer or not? Keep preaching that message. It is necessary. And hopefully you will inspire many of us to join you in the preaching!
