Carolina Dreamin’
Posts at Blessed is the Kingdom have been few and far between of late, much of this due to a recent full schedule that has not allowed for blogging. One positive reason for a lack of posts this past weekend was a visit from my brother and his wife, who are on vacation this week. It was good to relax with them, if only for a day. This coming week promises to be yet again a week of few posts, but fortunately not due to being too busy. Today I am traveling to North Carolina for our annual priest retreat. Bishop Stika has been able to encourage many more of the priests than usual to attend and I am looking forward to the time of rest and renewal.
Fr. David and I also plan to spend a couple of days following the retreat to hike and visit my old home in Ashe County. Last week I was surprised by the excitement of our staff at the mention of the Ashe County Cheese Factory. I never knew it was a staff so enamored of cheese, but I will do my best to make it by there to pick up some for our meeting next week.
I hope that the readers of this blog will pray for my brother priests and I this week. The quiet will continue this week, but it is a good and needed quiet, at least from the standpoint of this new pastor.
