Blessed is the Kingdom

Seeking The Kingdom In All Things

Naming the Child

Yesterday’s feast of the Holy Innocents still has me reflecting upon those parents who have lost a child, either through accidents, sickness or miscarriage. This past year I happened upon a website called, Naming the Child. I learned of it from Molly Sabourin in a letter to her daughter Lucy she composed and shared through her podcast, Close to Home.

Soon after hearing the reflection, I shared it with a friend who had just experienced a miscarriage and ordered the book by Jenny Schroedel to read. I am still getting around to the book in my never ending to-be-read stack, but the website has been a blessing to me.

You can find a link to Naming the Child in my list of  ”sites to see” and you can listen to Molly’s letter by clicking on the link below.

Thank you for this Father. It is very comforting.

Father Chris, Molly really knows how to put feelings into words that touch the heart and soul. She is a wonderful example of what the vocation of motherhood gives, receives and endures for the glory of God. Also, the “99 balloons” was so spiritually uplifting and full of God’s love through these parents. Both of these posts have made me realize how crucial it is to obey God’s will and put our trust in Jesus. God’s love heals all the pain and suffering we endure if we just turn ourselves over to Him. Thanks for all of your blogs. They educate and draw me closer to Jesus. Keep them coming!
