Sabbath Sunday: Failure

As we continue our Lenten journey, I am reminded again and again of how easy it is to give in to failure. Our job as Christians is to keep getting up. This post from last year is a good reminder that Christians have been prone to failure since the beginning. You can read it here.

    Your post on Failure slammed right into what I was writing about on Saturday but will finish and post on Tuesday (“Please, Lord, Give Me Another Chance!”) — incredible remorse and a strong feeling of sheer stupidity on bungling an easy tasking from our wonderful Master. I cannot even go to confession this week because Fr. Ed, our English-speaking priest, is in Ireland — his mother passed away — and although I do upon occasion attend and understand the Spanish Mass, my spoken Spanish is not good enough to go to the Spanish-speaking priest (nor is his English good enough to respond to me). So, I am grateful for your post; it reminded me that God does understand and forgive when we make mistakes.

    Glad that the post was helpful Elizabeth! And I understand the feeling of not “getting it” as being a priest who has some spanish skills, but many times feeling inadequate, especially in the confessional, in a second language!
