Cannonball Catholic Blog Awards

by Fr. Christian Mathis on April 26, 2010

Blessed Is the Kingdom has been nominated for a blog award. Thanks to The Ironic Catholic for nominating this blog in the 2010 Cannonball Catholic Blog Awards in the category of Best Under Appreciated Blog.

My only response is to join with so many others who have misquoted Sally Field in saying, “You like me, you really like me!”

I hope you will cruise on over to The Crescat to nominate your favorite Catholic blogs and check out the other nominees.

I wish Orthodox blogs were as good as Crescats! We just take our stuff way too seriously. We should have a canon that converts shouldn’t be allowed to start a blog for ten years. :)

Its too bad you got nominated for the Underappreciated Award, now you’ll have to be falsely humble whether you win or lose and now you’ll be appreciated which can lead to pride so now on top of everything else you have ANOTHER spiritual warfare on your hands. However, I’m proud that I appreciated your blog before a lot of other people jump on the bandwagon. I wonder if I can vote on the other nominees and say “I don’t appreciate them at all” and boost your ranking? Anyway, I do like you.

And, I’m glad you enjoyed “Love’s Executioner”.

Yes, these things do cause problems, don’t they? We all like to be validated that our work is something people value. I suppose one way is with awards, even if they are tongue and cheek. And false humility takes so much energy!
