I have to confess that I, too, missed Mass today. Today disappeared while I was in the air. I left on Saturday and when I got to Jordan, the time difference meant that Sunday was past here. That is also why I am late posting today (or tomorrow -- it is all very confusing when one is working in two very different time zones). At least, I was able to cut out from work on Friday long enough to make Mass at the Army chapel nearby before leaving on this trip.

Enjoy the trail. My husband and son were through-hikers many years ago. My son was young at the time (10), but he remembers many details to this day, and it built a great relationship with his father. Lots of beautiful places and, at least for through-hikers, good friendships.

I'm bummed that I didn't get to go to Mass today (i.e. missing Pentecost!), so this was the closest Pentecost-ish post I had, I guess. Happy Sunday!

In the season of graduations, I find it interesting that many who eschew the pomp and ritual of the Christian liturgical traditions do exactly the same thing in service to their gods, whatever they are named, and even if they do not name them.

This is a great post my fellow blogger at YIM Catholic, Webster Bull, wrote about Mary on the Feast of her nativity last fall.

Given that it's Pentecost, and that Mary plays a central role in this day, I thought I would recycle this post. Both my fellow bloggers, Webster Bull and Frank Weathers, converted to the faith. This post and others gives me insight into what drew them to the Church.

Today I posted a little about myself and my family which I wrote last May. When I go back to read things from a year ago I like what I wrote then better than what I've written lately. Maybe the old posts will inspire me to do some better writing now. Again, thank you for the opportunity to do this.
