St. Jerome, pray for us.
On this feast day of St. Jerome, I encourage taking a few minutes of time with the Scripture in honor of a man who devoted his life to it. Here are two short passages to start with that are the entrance and communion antiphons for today’s celebration of the Eucharist.
The book of the law must be ever on your lips; reflect on it night and day. Observe and do all that it commands: then you will direct your life with understanding. (Joshua 1:8)
When I discovered you teaching, I devoured it. Your words brought me joy and gladness; you have called me your own, O Lord my God. (Jeremiah 15:16)
