Msgr. Moroney on the New Roman Missal (part one)

This coming Advent Roman Catholics across the United States will welcome a new Roman Missal. There are already a wide range of reactions to the arrival of this new book of worship. I was recently pointed to a short set of videos by Msgr. James Moroney which introduce these new prayers. Msgr. Moroney does a beautiful job in his description of the new missal. In this section he presents the role of the priest in the celebration of the Eucharist.

By his bearing and by the way he says the divine words he must convey to the faithful the living presence of Christ. How does this happen? It happens from the inside out. It happens when we lead a life of prayer, when we see our celebration of the liturgy as a dialogue with God.

I hope that the readers of this blog will find this short set of videos helpful as we prepare for the implementation of a new Roman Missal.
