Thank You

by Fr. Christian Mathis on August 30, 2011

Thank you to all who voted for this blog in the Catholic New Media Awards. I was very surprised to see that Blessed Is The Kingdom placed fourth in the category of Best Blog By A Cleric. I would like to encourage you to check out the other winners and runners up at the Catholic New Media Awards site. While it is a known fact that most of us would like to win in these kinds of contests, I am happy to know that one of the nominees who placed above me is my favorite seminary professor of all time, Fr. Bob Barron. Be sure to check out his brand new mini-series Catholicism.

You were up against serious heavy hitters in RC blogdom.  And I still like what you have to say best!

Thank you for the compliment. I am, however, happy to have been up against the heavy hitters and to have stood my ground. Who else would one wish to be listed with? I must say again how much I like Fr. Bob Barron. I took every class I could from him.

    1. Where are you from? Where do you currently live?

I am from the Netherlands and live in Wassenaar near
    the Hague

    2. Why do you visit this blog?

I love to read blogs from Roman Catholics preferably
in Dutch, but that’s a very small group.

    3. What is a typical day like for you? What’s your
    favorite part of the day?

After waking up, shower and breakfast it’s time for
morning prayer, a great way for me to prepare myself for an office day. When I
come home in the evening, it’s time for dinner and homework (fourth year theology
student, following his vocation to become a permanent deacon in his diocees -
D.V .), so me and my two sons are getting in to there books. After approximately
two hours I join my dear wife and not much later it’s time to get ready for bed
    after Night Prayer..

    I’ll get to
the rest of the questions on a later time….
