Today the Church celebrates the feast day of Saint Christopher Magallanes and his companions. These priests and laymen were shot or hanged by the Mexican government during religious persecution during the 1920s. Rather than serve a government set upon suppressing the Church, they chose instead to serve Christ the King. An upcoming film portrays the events surrounding their martyrdom and the Cristero war. These saints are a reminder that we should take courage as Christians, knowing that no one can take our faith from us if we are willing to follow Christ and so many martyrs in giving witness to our belief.
For Greater Glory
