The last day of our priest retreat this year was focused on generosity. As we reflected upon this Christian virtue I couldn’t help but to think of the many priests in both the Diocese of Knoxville and Nashville who have come to serve from other countries. Between our two dioceses there are priests from Columbia, Ireland, Ghana, Mexico, Nigeria, Vietnam, Poland, Kenya and India. Without the generosity of these men who have left their homes in order to serve the Church in Tennessee, there would no doubt be many parishes without a priest and those with one would likely see their pastor less, as more of us would be serving multiple parishes.
Today I am thankful for these men who have chosen to serve along side me by building the Kingdom in Tennessee.
