Persistence is a virtue. If you want to succeed in the Christian life you must be able to get up every time you fall. Perhaps one of the best songs for Christians to keep in their iPod playlist is from the band Chumbawamba. Their song Tubthumping states simply, “I get knocked down, but I get up again. You’re never gonna keep me down.” Sometimes as Christians we get knocked down, and sometimes we fall of our own accord. The key to being a good Christian is not being perfect, but rather being consistent. When we fall, we get up again. The demons rejoice when we fall and stay down. God rejoices when we fall and get up again. Let’s encourage one another to keep getting up, no matter how many times we fall.
