Wait for the Lord

by Fr. Christian Mathis on February 25, 2013

Regular readers of this blog may have noticed more silence here in recent days than is normal. This is due mostly to an abundance of time given to burying the dead in my parish, along with giving attention to personal matters, and most especially due to the regular work of a pastor which should always comes first. During these first days of Lent, however, I have come to think that perhaps my lack of things to say here are simply a gift from God. It seems He may be calling me more to the task of listening this Lent, to being quiet. I can assure you that I am not done with blogging, but my guess is you will hear less of me during the next several weeks. My promise is to keep you in prayer and hope you will do the same for me.

Here are a few of the words God has recently shared with me through Deacon Alex Jones. He is currently giving our parish mission at St. Thomas. I hope they will inspire you to continue listening to God during this Lenten season. Listen here.
