About
I am a priest and pilgrim, attempting to walk the path of conversion. This blog began in August 2008 as a place to begin sharing thoughts with friends and family. It has grown to be a home for those who value conversation and dialogue on the Christian faith. Blessed Is The Kingdom is a site where friends and family are always welcome.
I am a priest of the Diocese of Knoxville, TN who attended Conception Seminary College in Missouri and Mundelein Seminary in Chicago for my formation and training. I was ordained a deacon on August 27, 1999 and a priest on June 3, 2000. My ministry has taken me throughout East Tennessee. I began my ministry at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Knoxville then moved on to Johnson City where I worked at St. Mary Parish with additional ministry to spanish speaking migrants and with the students at East Tennessee State Universtity. Some of the most rewarding and difficult ministry assigned to me was serving as our Diocesan Director of Youth Ministry while also serving as Spiritual Director at Notre Dame High School in Chattanooga, TN. Despite the difficult nature of the job, I continue to experience the blessings of my time among our youth. I am currently serving as the pastor of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in Lenoir City, TN. If you are in the area, stop by for a visit!

I am having trouble hearing Fr. Barton over the music and can’t seem to find a way to turn the music off. Can you help me with this.
Thanks
Jeff
Hey Jeff!
Good to see you here. You can turn the music off or down by looking on the left hand side of the pate where is says “Song of the Day”
Hope you can Cecelia are well!
I tried to respond on Twitter, but I think you didn’t follow me so I can’t send you a direct message there. Yes, I’m a big fan of Father Stephen. I haven’t been commenting there, or very many other places much these days. A combination of trying to stay out of online arguments and trying to work on my own poetry site. I’ve been by your website before and really enjoyed it. Thanks for looking me up.
I must agree with you that staying away from online arguments is a good thing. Glad to see you here!
